This seductive, fruity, yet smoky-mineral, Riesling, earth-friendly in the best sense of the word, enchants with its melange of fascinating rhine-hessian fullness and a grandiose freshness and minerality. It excels in its earliest youth with its complex spectrum of flavors, ranging from tropical fruit (pineapple, passion fruit), dried apricot and tangerine to white flowers and mint notes, making it almost addictive in the intensity of the aromas, in the purity of its flavor Components and the unmistakable authentic Riesling character of his large Oppenheimer locations (slate, but also a bit calcareous) on the world famous "Red Hang". On the palate, a cool, danceable, racy freshness (what a fantastic ripe acidity) and a great minerality that is second to none. A Gutswein is always the business card of a Domaine. And the sympathetic Caroline and Hans Oliver have even outdone themselves with their wonderfully fine, highly elegant basic Riesling in 2015.
